克標煤，節約能源75％。每平方米黏土磚和混凝土墻體材料平均重量為415.5千克，Ｕ型玻璃僅19千克。若使用Ｕ型玻璃，可減輕90％的墻體重量，節約大量的基礎建材。Ｕ型玻璃的施工效率一般為磚砌墻的10倍。

綜合下來，Ｕ型玻璃的造價只有玻璃幕墻的70％，與混凝土砌磚加粉刷貼面墻、黏土磚加粉刷墻、低質木質隔墻相近。
